Partner
Born and raised in Cape Breton by Greek parents Lu was raised with strong influences but her love of animals came naturally. Early on she seemed destined to be a Veterinarian. Her natural way with the family pets and neighborhood strays showed a warm baring heart. She worked her way through college and on to University earning her degree in veterinary medicine from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island.
She spent several years training and gained experience in Teaching Hospitals and Specialty Clinics in New York , Beverly Hills and Pittsburg before heading home to Canada and settling in Toronto.
She has practiced for more than 20 years, much of time at the Downtown Animal Hospital where she proudly made Partner in June 2007. As a passionate and
strong advocate for all animals and especially a huge compassion for stray and homeless animals , Lu has devoted much time volunteering with Rescue groups and Humane Society’s both in Pittsburgh and Toronto.
Lu once spent 3 days of a 7 day trip tracking down paperwork to bring home a stray cat from Cuba. Once home he was named Fidel.
Lu loves all aspects of veterinary medicine
She still has a love of animals surrounding herself at home with 2 dogs (JJ and Lill’T), and 3 cats (Lady, Stubs, and Camden). When possible she enjoys spending time with family across Canada.
